With more than 80,000 successful procedures to his credit, including varied refractive vision correction technologies, Dr. Botkin joined the team at Viso Lasik Medspas in Palm Beach after working in LASIK centers in and around the South Florida region.

After graduating from Loyola University in Chicago, Dr. Botkin participated in blood coagulation research and trial studies at Northwestern University’s Evanston Hospital for one year. From there, he continued his studies at the Illinois College of Optometry where he earned a Doctor of Optometry degree with honors in low vision. In 1982, Dr. Botkin relocated to Florida, and began a practice in optometry with a group of ophthalmologists in Miami. In 1999, he trained in Orlando and Tampa with renowned LASIK surgeons. Throughout his career, Dr. Botkin has worked as a doctor-trainer for optometry students during their internships at NSU Optometry School, and continues to train optometrists entering the field of LASIK surgery.

Dr. Botkin embraces his career as both rewarding and fulfilling. “I find great personal satisfaction in working as a team to bring the pleasure of corrected and improved vision to my patients,” says Dr. Botkin. One of the most satisfying aspects of his work is the post-operative care that he personally gives his patients. “I love when my patients come for their follow-up examinations and tell me how having LASIK surgery has impacted their lives.”
