Dr. Maurer has built a reputation in the ophthalmology industry for his ability to rapidly incorporate the latest technological advances into his procedures. He has helped improve more than 10,000 eyes and is currently one of very few doctors offering optimized LASIK laser vision correction and multi-focal lens implants for cataracts and lens replacement procedures.

Dr. Maurer received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine. A diligent scholar, Dr. Maurer was elected as one of the top five students by Alpha Omega Alpha, a fraternity recognizing academic excellence for medical students. Dr. Maurer completed his ophthalmology training at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Relocating to South Florida in 1993 allowed Dr. Maurer to hone his specialization: minimally invasive microscopic procedures. He quickly became one of the busiest eye surgeons in the Miami-Dade/Broward area specializing in minimally invasive procedures. In 1997, he became certified in the VISX laser vision correction and subsequently became certified on the Bausch and Lomb Technolas lasers, Allegretto Wavelight laser and the IntraLase Excimer FS laser. Dr. Maurer uses these state-of-the-art machines to provide customers of Viso Lasik Medspas the most accurate Blade-Free Custom LASIK vision correction possible.
