Michael D. Tschoepe is an expertly skilled ophthalmologist who specializes in LASIK and other refractive surgeries, state-of-the-art cataract procedures, and multi-focal lens implants. With over 27 years of experience, Michael D. At nineteen, Tschoepe entered the University of Texas medical school at San Antonio as the youngest in his class. He received the Evans-Swann Scholarship (awarded to only two students each year) four years in a row and graduated with a medical degree in 1976 in the top five in his class. He completed an internal medicine internship and a three year ophthalmology residency in San Antonio and was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1981. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Tschoepe is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, San Antonio Society of Ophthalmology, Texas Ophthalmological Association, Texas Medical Association, and Comal County Medical Society. He has served in a local capacity as President of the Comal County Medical Society and Chief of Staff at McKenna Memorial Hospital. Dr. Tschoepe holds affiliations with several local hospitals and visual health specialists.
